You can now buy movie tickets with Google Assistant
Google has partnered with Fandango to offer movie ticket purchases from Google Assistant. To buy tickets, just say “buy tickets,” or you can say, “Hey Google, get me tickets for...” with the name of the film you want to see. If you’re not sure what you want to see, just say, “showtimes near me,” and Google will bring up a selection of films playing at theaters located near you. You can find out more about a film by asking “who stars in it?” or “show me the trailer.”
Once you’ve made a theatre and session selection, you can also pick your seats.
Since it’s May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, Google is also having a massive Star Wars sale in the Google Play Store. There are value bundles and sales on apps, including Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, Star Wars: Commander, Star Wars: Force Arena, LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum, Disney Emoji Blitz, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Star Wars Pinball 6. There are also discounts on audiobooks, e-books, and comic books.
Google also has an Easter egg for Star Wars fans: if you tell Google Assistant “May the 4th be with you,” it yells at you in Shyriiwook. You can also buy advanced tickets for upcoming movies with the feature. When you use the prompts with Assistant on your phone, it pulls up a selection of theaters with available times.
